The 8th Hong Kong International Oncology Symposium
Event Date: 6th & 7th November, 2021
We are pleased to announce the 8th Hong Kong International Oncology Symposium (HKIOS) 2021 will take place in Hong Kong Science Park on 6 – 7 November 2021. We are now calling for the submission of abstracts. The conference aims to bring together multiple disciplines and specialties together to share the latest, high-impact innovations in biomedical research and to promote networking among clinicians, scientists, and the industries in the Pacific Rim regions.
The scientific program will span a broad spectrum of cancer science and medicine from basic science, translational research to clinical applications. Examples of the themes of the abstracts include (not exclusively):
- Innovative sequencing technologies and applications
- Cancer vaccines
- Application of artificial intelligence
- Translational research
- Cancer biology
- Tumor heterogeneity
- Radiotherapy
- Clinical trials
- Palliative care
- Chinese medicine
Abstract Guidelines:
1. Length of Abstracts. The combined length of the abstract body, title, and tables may not exceed 2,600 characters, not including spaces and the author string. Tables count for 800 characters against the limit.
2. Content of Abstracts. Each abstract should contain (a) Title (b) background (c) objectives (d) methods (e) results (f) conclusions.
3. Presentation: The submitting author of each abstract must designate a presenter who agrees to register for the meeting and attend the corresponding session to discuss with the audience.
4. Abstract Deadline. The deadline for abstract submission is on 15th October, 2021.

Presentation Guidelines:
1. Poster: Presenters are asked to submit an electronic Microsoft PowerPoint with thetemplate provided. There is a limit to a maximum of 8 slides including the title slide.
2. Oral Presentation: If selected for oral presentation, the presenter should prepare a PowerPoint slide deck and a narrated Microsoft PowerPoint presentation up to 15 minutes inclusive of questions and answers.
Awards:
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by experts, abstracts can be accepted as either poster or oral presentations. The best five abstracts will be each awarded HK$1,000 and an award certificate.
